Radio Ear

The Radio Ear is an installation I made  for the artist residency project REITIR.

During the residency one of the projects was a pirate radio station, Radio Reitir. To gain some interest of passers by I set up an ear in which you could listen to the radio. A small radio was put up with a long tube taped to it. The other end was attached to the ear. You could listen to the radio through the ear.

The ear has legs, because, duh, how else would he keep up with his dog?

For more info on the residency, check their site! But in short:

Since 2012, REITIR has annually invited a number of people from around the world to Siglufjördur to participate in an experimental approach to the traditional art workshop. REITIR includes young professionals from all around the world with all sorts of expertise to the northern part of Iceland to collaborate on innovative works that address the town of Siglufjördur, in one way or another. The aim of REITIR is to be an active and critical part of Siglufjörður’s development by creating a platform for innovation and critical thinking through interdisciplinary cooperation.
