H.W. Mesdag is mostly known for his gigantic panorama painting of Scheveningen (Panorama Mesdag), the coast part of The Hague in The Netherlands. It is the largest 19th century painting in The Netherlands: 14m high and 120m long. This man is most well know for his paintings, mostly seascapes, but has been very important to The Hague as an entrepeneur and well known art collector as well.
To celebrate his importance to the city of The Hague, 2015 is celebrated as the Year of Mesdag (Mesdagjaar) for wich I have designed the identity, logo, flags and website while working at zootz.
With this style other creatives have made beautiful adaptations to the windows of the museum and a tram-design.
